Trusting God’s Timing

God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t feel like it. If you are praying about something and it seems like God is taking too long to answer, trust Him. God knows what is best for us and when it is best for us. He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).  Your times are in God’s hands (Psalm 31:15). God wrote down every day of your life and laid out every moment before you were born (Psalm 139:16).

From experience, I have learned that every time I thought that I really wanted or even needed something and that if God did not answer my prayer within a certain time frame things would go wrong, I really did not need that thing within that time frame. I look back and thank God for some of the things that did not happen within the time frame I wanted to have them. When you find yourself asking God for something “right now,” take a minute to examine whether you are in God’s will in terms of timing.

The prodigal son wanted his inheritance at the very time he asked for it instead of waiting for the right time and nothing could make him change his mind. He ended up wasting it all(Luke 15:11 – 31).

The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. (Luke 15:12 nlt)

Trust God’s timing in your life. Rest in His love for you. God always keeps His word. If something has not happened yet, trust God to make it happen at the right time. His time.

The Lord kept His word and did for Sarah exactly what He had promised. She became pregnant, and she gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would. (Genesis 21:1 – 2 nlt).

Perhaps you are unhappy about something that you think has taken too long to happen, (getting a job, getting married, the growth and success of the business God led you to start, or what you have been praying and asking God for) and you think that if you just had it you would be happier. You might be happy when you get it, but soon you will realize that there is something else you need to be happy. If you are not happy and content right now, you will only feel happy for a while once you get what you want. Happiness and contentment is not about what we have or do not have. Trust God’s timing and be content.

At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen. (Isaiah 60:22 nlt)

God Bless You!
