Sometimes, if not most times, we wait too long to do what the Lord has called us to do. It is as simple as not doing something that has been in your heart to do for a long time. God puts desires in your heart that are His will and purpose for you. He gives you brilliant ideas to do what He has called you to do. You might need a nudge here or there; for example, your family members could keep telling you to start a cake baking business because you make amazing cakes.
If you are honest with yourself, deep down in your heart you know what the Lord has called you to do. If you are not sure about your purpose or God’s calling over your life, ask Him in prayer and He will make it clear. It is usually not an audible voice and normally an angel will not appear to you to let you know what your purpose is. But, pray about it, keep talking to God about it and it will be clear in your heart and you will get a brilliant idea that is God’s best for you.
Nehemiah 7:5 So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return. This is what I found written there…(NIV)
Nehemiah 7:5 So my God gave me the idea to call together all the nobles and leaders of the city, along with the ordinary citizens, for registration. I had found the genealogical record of those who had first returned to Judah. This is what was written there…(NLT)
The truth is that if you do not step into your purpose, someone else will be raised to do it. This is because there are people intended to be blessed by what the Lord has called you to do. While we should wait for God’s timing to do something, it is important to act when you know that the time is right. God will prepare you through different experiences and give you the skills and talents required, but you have a part to play. You have to take action.
Esther 4:14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” (NLT)
God bless you!
