Life is seasonal; some seasons are better than others; some are tough. No matter what you are going through it is important to remember that morning always comes. Night seasons don’t last forever. It might feel like the night season will never end but it will. The wilderness is a place we pass through, it is not our final destination. There is a time for everything. There is a time to go through the wilderness and a time to enter into the Promised Land.
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning. (Psalm 30:5 NLT)
During night seasons it feels like the only thing surrounding us is darkness. You might even feel like God has abandoned you but God is right there with you. Shepherds watch over their flock at night. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and when we are going through a tough night season, He is watching over us. The darkness might make it hard for us to see that God is right there with us but He is.
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. (Luke 2:8 NLT)
In this night season that you are going through, the Good Shepherd is with you. He is guarding you to make sure that you safely make it through the night. Although weeping might last the whole night, the morning is coming and with it will come joy.
I have been through difficult seasons in my life. Looking back I realize that God was with me all along. He never leaves us no matter how alone we feel. One thing that I have learnt is to praise God through it all. That my relationship with God goes beyond the good times. My relationship with God does not depend on what I am going through. I know that He loves me even when life gets hard. I can have an amazing time with God and laugh even in the night season. There are treasures that can only be found in the dark places of life. These are the treasures of darkness. We come out of night seasons stronger, changed and with valuable treasures.
Hold on. Trust God. Morning always comes.
God bless you!
