There are times when we feel like we are running out of faith. When you have been praying and nothing seems to change. You have patiently waited on the Lord for something but it seems like He has forgotten. When you feel like you are running out of faith and like you are about to give up on believing, there is a reason why you can rest assured that your faith will not fail. Jesus prayed for Simon Peter so that Peter’s faith would not fail. God hears and answers prayers. I believe that today Jesus prays the same prayer for each of His followers when He sees a test ahead of us that might cause our faith to fail. Any time you feel like your faith is about to run out, find encouragement in knowing that Jesus has prayed that your faith will not fail. Your faith will not fail.
Luke 22:32 “But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.” – Jesus (NIV)
Do you ever feel like you want to have more faith? That if only you had more faith then things would be different? One sure way to increase your faith is to focus on the Lord. Jesus said that faith the size of a mustard seed is all we need to move mountains. God is great and mighty and what we need is faith the size of a mustard seed in our great God. When you focus on how great God is, that He can do anything and that He can change your situation in a moment, then your faith will increase without you even noticing.
Matthew 17:20 “…if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (NIV)
Today I want to encourage you and to let you know that your faith will not fail. Keep your focus on the Lord.
God bless you.
It is easy to ask God for what we want. God is always glad to answer our prayers when we pray in accordance with His will. He wants us happy and fulfilled. He is a good Father.
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. (NIV)
God is able to do much more than what we ask Him to do. He is also able to do much more than we imagine. So what are you thinking today? What are you imagining? Because God not only hears your words, He hears your thoughts too. Do not pray for the best and imagine the worst. Pray for the best and imagine the best. Pray and then think of ways to show that you are expecting an answer to your prayers. We often pray and then worry about the very thing we prayed about. When we worry we are imagining the worst. Choose not to worry about the things you are praying about. When you pray, completely give it over to God.
And one thing more. Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers. (NIV)
Philemon had been praying for Paul to be restored to them and Paul told Philemon to prepare a guest room where Paul would stay when he came. He had faith that God would answer and Philemon needed to act in accordance with his request in prayer. An action starts with a thought. As you pray today, remember that your thoughts are prayers too. Make sure you ask for the best and imagine the best. Take action to show your faith. The action you take is determined by the thoughts you are thinking.
God bless you!
“I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places…” Isaiah 45: 3
When you are at a dark place in your life or you are going through a dark time, always remember that there are treasures that are only found in darkness. These are the treasures of darkness. There are treasures in the dark place you are at right now. Darkness has treasures. Do not allow the dark time and the dark place of your life to pass by without you getting the treasure. Don’t come out of the dark place empty handed.
That dark place of pain, disease, lack, heartbreak…whatever it is, there is a treasure in it. It could be the treasure of knowing God as Healer; or the treasure of learning to fully surrender to God; or the treasure of a business idea that sees you get out of financial lack. Whatever the darkness, there is a treasure that can only be found in that place and time.
When miners are mining precious stones, they go deep into the dark places under the earth. The treasures will not be found on the ground above but underground. They need lighting to see where the treasure is. The same applies to us. In our darkness, we need to pull out the light of the Word of God that is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). The Word of God will let us see the treasure. Do not get so discouraged in your dark place that you lose faith in the Word of God.
Believe what God says to you and what is written in His Word and get the treasures of darkness.
God Bless You!
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker,
those who are nothing but potsherds
among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
‘What are you making?’
Does your work say,
‘The potter has no hands’?
We are like clay in the Hands of our Creator and He is the Potter. God molds us into the kind of people we should be. He knows what we were created to be and He shapes us into the vessel fit for our purpose. Yet most times we find ourselves arguing with God about what He is doing in our lives. I know that you might think you don’t argue with God. What about those times you refuse to be molded and take the easy way out of a situation that was meant to shape you? What about those times you do not do what you know deep down in your heart is what God wants you to do.
Sometimes we want to be like another vessel and look at ourselves as God is shaping us and when we see that God is shaping us differently from what we want or from who we think is doing great, we fail to co-operate with God and in essence ask Him, “What are you making?”
God is shaping you into the vessel that He knows is best for your good and for His glory. Stop wanting to be like that pretty pot you saw somewhere and allow God to shape you as seems best to Him; not as seems best to you; not as seems best to the people around you who keep telling you who you should be.
God bless you!
